The 14th Assembly of ASOSAI was successfully held in Hanoi, Vietnam from September 19 to 22, 2018. Ms. HU Zejun, Auditor General of the National Audit Office of P. R. China, officially takes over as the Secretary General of ASOSAI.

With participation of 190 delegates from 40 countries and international organizations, this year's Assembly marked an important event in ASOSAI. The Vietnamese President met with the heads of delegations. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, attended the opening ceremony of the assembly and delivered a speech. Dr. Harib Saeed AlAmeemi, Chair of INTOSAI Governing Board and President of SAI UAE, also delivered the remarks at the opening ceremony. This assembly discussed the governance matters of ASOSAI, approved relevant work reports, and elected the members of the Governing Board and the Audit Committee for the period of 2018-2021. The Chairmanship and Secretariat of ASOSAI were handed over at the meeting. The Assembly finally adopted Hanoi Declaration as the official document.

Ms. HU Zejun participated in the 52nd meeting of Governing Board which was held ahead of the assembly, and co-chaired the 7th Symposium of “Environmental Auditing for Sustainable Development” with Dr. Ho Duc Phou, Auditor General of State Audit Office of Viet Nam, and Mr. Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara, Chairman of The Audit Board of The Republic of Indonesia. After assuming office of the Secretary General, Ms. HU Zejun jointly presided over the 53rd meeting of Governing Board together with Dr. Ho Duc Phou, Auditor General of State Audit Office of Viet Nam and the Chairman of ASOSAI.

During the assembly, Ms. HU Zejun held bilateral talks with the Auditor Generals of Vietnam and other SAIs to further consolidate and develop the cooperative friendship both bilaterally and multilaterally.
