On January 18 2012 the 2nd Joint Meeting of Central Economic Accountability Audit (EAA) was held in Beijing. Mr Liu Jiayi, Auditor General and addressed the meeting and urged relevant departments to speed up standardization of economic accountability audit with innovative audit methods and improved quality of audit so that accountability audit will play a more important role in national governance. Attending the meeting were high level leaders from the CPC Central Committee Organization Department, State Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and CNAO leaders. The meeting reviewed work of the joint meeting mechanism in the past year and agreed to further deepen economic accountability work by enhancing communication and cooperation.
In 2011, over 39 000 people at various levels including about 38 000 government officials and 1000 state owned enterprise leaders were audited.
