CNAO Delegation Attends 23rd Indo-China Audit Seminar and ASOSAI WGEA Meetings in India

The CNAO delegation headed by Ms Qin Boyong, Deputy Auditor General, attended the 23rdIndo-China Audit Seminar and the 6thSeminar on Environmental Auditing & 5thWorking Meeting of ASOSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA) in India from 13thto 19thOct., 2016.

From 14thto 15thOctober, the 23rdIndo-China Audit Seminar, with Environmental Auditing and Environmental Policy Assessmentas itstheme, was held in New Delhi, India. The SAIs of India and China exchanged information on respective environmental auditing law system, implementation status of environmental audits, and experiences on promoting national environmental policys implementation through auditing. Delegates from both SAIs agreed that environmental auditing shall be further strengthened, so as to encourage the implementation of environmental protection policies from the perspective of national governance. And promote reasonable and coordinated development in the fields of economy, society and environment, so as to facilitate achieving the targets of UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. During the seminar, Ms Qin Boyong paid a courtesy visit to Mr Shashi Kant Sharma, Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

From17thto 19thOctober, the 6thSeminar on Environmental Auditing and 5thWorking Meeting of ASOSAI WGEA wereheld in Jaipur, India with a total of 48 delegates from 22 SAIs and international organizations. On behalf of Mr. LIU Jiayi, Chairman of the Governing Board of INTOSAI, Chairman of ASOSAI WGEA, Auditor General of CNAO, Ms. QinBoyong delivered the openingremarks and made the Progress Report of ASOSAI WGEA. The delegates held discussions and shared the experiences on 2 topics, i.e. Audit of Implementation of Environmental Policy and SAIs Role in Promoting National Sustainable Development. The Working Meeting approved the 2017-2019 Work Plan of ASOSAI WGEA and determined the priorities for next period.
