2014 Annual National Audit Conference Held in Beijing--Reform and Innovation Guiding Audit Work in the New Period

2014 Annual National Audit Conference was convened in Beijing on 25th to 26th December 2014. Over 300 people participated, including representatives from local audit offices, departments, resident offices and dispatched offices of the National Audit Office of P. R. China (CNAO).

Mr. Liu Jiayi, Auditor General of China, delivered the work report, to summarize audit work of 2014 and map out the work in 2015. From January to November 2014, over 100,000 units were audited nationwide, auditing reports and newsletters issued were amounted to 180,000 pieces, the increased revenues and reduced expenditures were up to RMB 240 billion, clues in violation of laws and disciplines transferred to relevant departments has reached 2,300 pieces, and 1,700 rules and regulations have been established or improved.

According to the requirements of Central Economic Work Conference 2014 and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on enhancing audit wok, Mr. Liu put forward two audit focal points of 2015. Audit institutions should, on the one hand, highlight problems related to violation of laws and regulations, great losses and waste, potential risks, and misconducting duties; and on the other hand, promote deepening reform, the rule of law and high efficiency. “Anti-corruption” and “reform” perform as two engines to drive the the wheel of “development” heading smoothly on the track of “the rule of law”.

Prominent auditing organizations, personnel, and projects were awarded to outstanding personnel and units of 2013 at the Conference.
