On April 7, Liu Jiayi, Auditor General of CNAO, met with the delegation headed by Mrs. Viengthong Siphandone, the President of State Audit Organization of Lao People's Democratic Republic. Ms. Qin Boyong, Deputy Auditor General of CNAO, attended the meeting.

Liu Jiayi extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He said, joined together by mountains and rivers, China and Laos enjoy a friendly neighboring relationship, and have long-term bilateral exchange and cooperation on politics, economy, culture and technology. With the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership, the relationship between two SAIs is rapidly improving and developing. Chinese auditors are actively innovating audit theories and practice, and audits had played an important role in effective national governance. CNAO would like to share its experience on the capacity building of auditors, the development of audit, and other audit areas with the State Audit Organization of Laos.

Mrs. Viengthong Siphandone said she is happy to visit CNAO. She looks forward to learning successful auditing experience from China. She hopes to promote the bilateral cooperation in more areas through the visit.

After the meeting, the two heads signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two SAIs.
